What’s the deal with these Silly Bandz?

In Online Shopping on March 31, 2010 at 4:21 pm

Okay I thought I had seen it all when I read about the popularity of the Pet Rock back in the day, but now it seems there is another exploding product that I’m really having a hard time explaining. I’m talking rubber bands, how can this be, Rubber bands that are shapes.

From what I can tell they are called Silly Bandz. So I did a little more research on them and I was floored at the popularity of these things. There seems to be about three main brands Silly Bandz of course and then there are Zany Bands and Bandzmania. All look very similar and all look, well, What the heck is going on?

If your into these Silly Bandz, then during my research of these crazy things I found that As seen on TV Products had a promotion going on a few brands of these silly bracelet rubber bands.

Speaking of Snuggies, Now comes The Original Dreamie!

In Online Shopping on February 22, 2010 at 4:57 pm

Everyone by now knows about the Snuggies, but here comes another incredibly ridiculous “Why didn’t I think about that idea?” The Original Dreamie – The top sheet, bottom sheet, and pillow all in one system. Really, is it a new idea, in concept, no, but in this day of age it doesn’t have to be. Just like the Snuggie, which looks like a backward robe, the Dreamie Blanket is basically a sleeping bag, but with sheets.

Basically in the whole aspect of the concept of the dreamie, the idea may seem stupid at first thought, but over time and after seeing the As seen on TV sensation, you come to realize that maybe this idea may be useful after all. It really didn’t necessarily hit till recently. Since I love to travel, and do spend a few nights a year in a hotel, it finally struck me, The dreamie is the perfect solution to sleeping on those “I Don’t Know what’s happen on these” Sheets.

The Dreamie may have  a use after all, if you are a traveler, then the Dreamie Blankets…….

Movie Remakes – New Releases effect the Halloween Costume Industry

In Holidays, Movies, Online Shopping on February 19, 2010 at 3:12 pm

Ironman Halloween CostumeIt is really interesting to see how the movie industry recreates old movies, and in 2010, 2011, and 2012, we’ll get our fair share of remade movies of the classic hits of yesteryear. I understand that the latest film technology gives film makers more tools to create the masterpiece look they were after back in the day, and I understand that some directors want to create these classic movies in a way that they seem fit, thus trying to play the I’m better than you game, but is it really a good idea, or are remakes the “Guaranteed” gold mines of film making?

Of course I’m kind of split on remakes. Part of me wants the film industry to leave some of the classic films alone, because I want the originality to stay intact. Even though they may have not been produced with the “Modern” day technology that the film industry has today, but they at the time of their releases they were instant classics and for the horror flicks, they did scare the hell out of me when I was a kid.

But looking at it from the industries point of view, I can see why. They obviously know there is already a fan base there, and of course maybe they believe that they will be able to tell the story just a little bit better with the capabilities they have at their hands today. Not only is there remakes being developed to perhaps become box office hits, but also there are a ton of new versions or past blockbuster hits.

What is surprising is that the movie industry has a huge effect on the Halloween Costumes industry. The latest blockbuster can strongly effect the newest lines of Costumes and their selling ability. The overall effect that the movie industry has on the costume industry is obviously recognized in Kids Costumes. It really is no secret that children are direct targets of advertising networks, because they understand that if they get their product in front of Children, chances are they will bug their parents enough till the point they break down and make the purchases. 2010 Halloween Costumes should provide some interesting choices during your costume shopping.

So onto the next few years, what can we expect as Far as Movies that should effect the costumes production:

NFL Snuggie, Maybe I’ll Think About it.

In Online Shopping on February 18, 2010 at 8:22 pm

Admitting that I use to laugh every time I heard about the As seen on TV Snuggie. Really, why would someone pay the prices they charge for snugges, when it seems to be nothing more than a backwards robe. I’m sure it’s warm, but I could never see myself purchasing one of these “Snuggie” sensations, well until now.

Okay I’m a fool for sports and now that I’ve seen that they have NFL Huddlers, which are the same concept of Snuggies, I may just have to break the bank open and get me one. Serious look at these Steelers NFL Huddlers, they really don’t look that bad and hey on a cold winter day, at least you will be covered with your favorite team’s helmet plastic all over it. So I think I’ve decided, if I have to get one of these backward robes, then at least I’ll get one that allows me to represent my favorite NFL team. Now the problem begins I just got to find a Detroit Lions Huddler…..
